いらつしゃいませ!!

In Japan, when you enter a store or a restaurant or a home, the hosts will call out "いらつしゃいませ!"(Ira'shaimase), which means something like "Welcome!" "Come on in!" Which is what I say to you, new and old friends, as I share random thoughts and creations to whomever is interested.

Mikan boy

After writing about the mikan-gari on Nov 23, 1963, I began to wonder if any photos existed of that day and that event. And as always happens when I start sorting through the photo albums, scanned slides, boxes of loose photos and files, I was flooded with memories of so many passages in my life. Things I remember; things I've forgotten. And imagine my joy when I came across this one of my sweet little brother David picking a rather large mikan!! It is dated Nov 23, 1963.
